Black Estate Waipara Chardonnay 2010
The Black Estate Chardonnay reveals a complex nose of grapefruit, nectarine, white peach, walnut, vanilla, and crushed oyster shell. The pallet is dense and expansive, transparent of the clay soils from which it originates. A powerful wine with salivating mineral persistence.

Man O War 'Valhalla' Waiheke Island Chardonnay 2009
This is Man O War's flagship chardonnay and a great statement of a powerful wine. It shows complex savoury aromas supported by quality oak and typical fruit characters found at the ripe end of the Chardonnay flavour spectrum; grapefruit and marmalade characters with hints of apricot characters derived from a small amount of noble berries in the bunches. The palate has good weight balanced with vibrant acidity and freshness on the finish. Very impressive awards history from it's short lifespan.

Neudorf Nelson Chardonnay 2010
The Neudorf Nelson chardonnay shows incredible concentration and richness on the palate. This wine is in perfect balance, with all elements pushing and pulling at eachother in perfect time. Sweet stonefruits are balanced with fine lively acidity, richness on the palate is matched with trademark Neudorf minerality/flint. The oak is there supporting and carrying the fruit, not dominating it. This all leads to a long savoury and incredibly satisfying finish.

Spy Valley 'Envoy' Marlborough Chardonnay 2007
A word of warning, this is serious, and seriously good, chardonnay. The Spy Valley Envoy Chardonnay shows a nose of roast nuts mingled with citrus and fig fruit aromas, and faint notes of wet stones. The palate is precise and focused with a cleansing, mineral finish. Delicate hazel nut and complex secondary flavours will emerge with bottle age.

Staete Landt Marlborough Chardonnay 2009
An incredibly elegant and well-structured chardonnay from the skilled team at Staete Landt. A hint of summer stone fruit on the nose, white peaches & cream, hazelnuts on the palate with a mineral aftertaste that lingers on. One of NZ's top 10 Chardonnays, according to Bob Campbell, MW.

Stonecroft 'Old Vines' Hawkes Bay Gewurztraminer 2009
This is a seriously good Gewurztraminer, made from well-established vines in the Gimblett Gravels. The 2009 was picked very ripe and has a powerful aromatic bouquet with a fat texture and grainy, spicey finish. It is off dry, ie medium residual sugar and very easy drinking now. 96 Points awarded.

Man O War 'Exiled' Pinot Gris 2010
This is big, serious, rich and utterly indulgent pinot gris. Named in tribute to Napoleon’s final place of exile where he was banished after his defeat at Waterloo. This, the first vintage of Exiled displays intense spice characteristics of ripe Pinot Gris - ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg with hints of citrus and floral notes. On the palate it’s natural sweetness is balanced with an outstanding minerality and freshness with a grapefruit finish lending length and persistence.

Neudorf 'Maggies Block' Nelson Pinot Gris 2011
The 2011 Maggies Block Pinot Gris shows a nose of rich pear and peach with a hint of light spice. The standout feature of this wine though is the palate, which is big, bold and texturally interesting. A drier style than many at just 4gms residual, this wine cries out for food.
