This may be the best chardonnay we have ever tried from Marlborough. Aromas of lemon, oat biscuit, toffee apple, toasted brioche and freshly ground spice are followed by a sumptuous palate of ripe peach and citrus flavours balanced with a seamless acidity and subtle, nutty oak. Neudorf Nelson Chardonnay 2011
The Neudorf Nelson chardonnay shows incredible concentration and richness on the palate. This wine is in perfect balance, with all elements pushing and pulling at eachother in perfect time. Sweet stonefruits are balanced with fine lively acidity, richness on the palate is matched with trademark Neudorf minerality/flint. The oak is there supporting and carrying the fruit, not dominating it. This all leads to a long savoury and incredibly satisfying finish.
