Te Awa Hawkes Bay Cabernet Merlot 2007
The nose is a little minerally but hints at vanilla and toasty oak. The palate offers a silken mouthfeel of oak, black currants and spicy vanilla with a hint of sweetness. A lovely Hawkes Bay example from an excellent vintage.

Mission Estate Reserve Hawkes Bay Cabernet Merlot 2007
A wonderful Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (49 per cent), Merlot (40 per cent) and Cabernet Franc (9 per cent) – with a splash of Petit Verdot, the 2007 vintage was grown in the Gimblett Gravels and matured in French oak casks (20 per cent new.) Deep and youthful in colour, it is mouthfilling, with concentrated blackcurrant, plum, spice and nut flavours, and supple tannins

Kidnapper Cliffs 'Ariki' Hawkes Bay Merlot Blend 2009
EXCLUSIVE TO NZWINEONLINE IN AUSTRALIA. The 2009 vintage is 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. A dark complex wine that has been blended to exhibit a thoughtful expression of site and year rather than varietal purity. It is brooding on the nose in an iodine/Islay whisky kind of way, there is even a hint of sherry aged maltiness or perhaps pipe tobacco. On the palate fruit notes of preserved plum and raspberry jam reflect the cépage (merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon). There is also a generosity suggestive of chocolate and brioche. LESS THAN 10 DOZEN BROUGHT IN TO AUSTRALIA.
