The Villa Maria Private Bin Pinot Gris shows aromas of green and red apple, quince and spicy pear notes feature on the nose. On the palate the wine is soft and textured, leading into a balanced and dry styled finish (just 4.8 g/l residual). This is an EXCELLENT wine at this price point.

Wither Hills Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011
This is a fantastically balanced Pinot Gris in a drier style than many. The wine shows varietal characteristics of ripe limes, quince, honeysuckle, pear and peach. A small parcel is fermented in ancient French oak barrels, enhancing the wine's palate weight and texture. The wine is bottled carefully to retain and capture the delicate aromatics, lush flavours and subtle palate weight. A great benchmark for Marlborough Pinot Gris.

Sur Lie is a wine-making technique essentially meaning resting the wine on lees. A relatively dry, refreshing Pinot Gris with a balanced acidity and plenty of pear and apple through the palate. A great aperitif.

Man O War Ponui Island Pinot Gris 2011
This wine is made from grapes planted on a neighbouring island to Waiheke. The 2011 has touches of cinnamon, spice and canned apricot and more subtle characters of peach, pear and chalk. The wine has a balance of natural sugar, acid, tannin and a lifted spritz on the palate which gives the wine liveliness. Quite sweet initially, but tidies up beautifully on the finish.
