Man O War 'Exiled' Pinot Gris 2010
check out our video review

Named in tribute to Napoleon’s final place of exile where he was banished after his defeat at Waterloo. This, the first vintage of Exiled displays intense spice characteristics of ripe Pinot Gris - ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg with hints of citrus and floral notes. On the palate it’s natural sweetness is balanced with an outstanding minerality and freshness with a grapefruit finish lending length and persistence. The grapes were grown on Ponui Island neighbouring Waiheke.

Drink now to 2013.

2010 Vintage

  • 4.5 Stars - Michael Cooper’s Buyers Guide 2012 "It’s a sweet but not super-sweet style, vibrant, pure, peachy and citrusy, with lively acidity and lovely richness."
  • 4 Stars - Bob Campbell MW, January 2011 "Rich, syrupy and quite sweet wine in a truly unctuous style with honey, peach, tropical fruit and hints of clove spice. Very impressive."
  • 4 Stars - Jane Skilton MW, Sunday Star Times, November 2010 "This premium pinot gris is a fine grape expression; gently aromatic with lovely depth."
