Julicher Estate '99 Rows' Martinborough Pinot Noir 2009
check out our video review

The nose of this wine displays all the red fruits - Raspberries, ripe cherries and wild strawberries with a soft, savoury and spicy complexity. The palate is medium-bodied and balanced with soft tannins and bright red fruit carrying through on the long finish.

Drink now-2013.

Absolutely my favourite red - this has become our "house red". I'm back for a third order - delicious!

So this is a "2nd label" is it, well I've got to say this probably beats it's bigger brother. Lovely tanin structure, soft yet complex with poached plumbs. Absolutely fabulous...try with a strong pate and some red meat. Cracking!

Hard not to like this wine. Generous concentration of flavour and very nicely put together by the winemaker, very much in a Martinborough style. Tasting this wine vs it's award winner sibling Julicher, I'd have to say the 99 Rows scored higher in a number of my boxes. It's arguably not quite as "classy" as the Julicher, but it's a fantastic drinker and knocks the pants off others in its price range.
