Craggy Range Te Muna Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011
check out our video review

Pale greenish straw in colour. Rich aromatics of fresh lime juice, elderflower, lemongrass, grilled citrus and ripe nectarine. Complex and intruiging. The palate is concentrated and dense, yet retains remarkable linearity and focus. Zesty citrus, stonefruit, herb and floral flavours fill the mouth, a fine chalky mineral texture tightens and focuses the finish. The wine finishes long and powerful, crisp, clean and dry.

At it's best within 3 years of vintage.

2010 Vintage

  • 5 Stars “Bright straw-yellow with pale green-gold hues to the colour, this has a gentle, but intense and deepish bouquet of fresh herbs and ripe currant fruit along with nuances of sweet and spicy oak. Dry on palate, the wine carries a rich breadth and full, open presence, showing ripe herb and earthy spice flavours. The acidity is soft and allows the wine to finish with a richness and lusciousness. A wine to match with salads, vegetables and lighter Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3-5 years.” - Raymond Chan, Jan 2011
  • 93 Points, 5 Stars “The bouquet is gently fragrant with white peach, lime and a touch of flinty characters. It's concentrated and succulent showing fine texture and well integrated acidity leading to a lovely firm finish.” - Sam Kim, www.wineorbit.co.nz Mar 2011

2008 Vintage

  • Bob Campbell 90/100 (2008 Vintage) "Dry, weighty wine with a strong mineral backbone supporting subtle stone fruit flavours. Grainy-textured Sauvignon Blanc that is subtle yet shows plenty of power in its lingering finish. Serious Sauvignon with cellaring potential.”
