Te Awa Hawkes Bay Syrah 2009
2009 was a stunning year for reds out of the Hawkes Bay. This syrah is powerful and poised, needs a bit of decanting to open up, but then reveals typical Syrah notes of blackberries and cinnamon. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grained tannins supporting a long finish. Beautifully balanced wine that may need some time to really come in to it's own.
