Mission Estate Reserve Hawkes Bay Syrah 2009
check out our video review

The colour of this 2009 vintage is dark and vibrant. The wine has a black pepper nose and also shows small dark berry aromas with spicy undertones. The palate is rich and medium-bodied with fine soft tannins. The tannins give structure to the good mid-palate and long finish.

Cellar Potential 5 – 10 years.

2009 Vintage

  • Gold, Air NZ Wine Awards, November 2010
  • "Fragrant aromas of blackberry, pure and varietal, with hints of red berry and spice.  The wine is medium bodied with a degree of elegance derived from its very fine grained tannin structure which adds length to the flavoursome palate.  As the wine seamlessly glides across the palate, you could drink it now but you should probably keep it for a few more years.   Outstanding" Winewise magazine, September 2010

Nose is slighty uncomplicated. The wine gives frotn palate forward fruit richness. Best left for 18-24 months. Great value for this wine.

We tried the 09. Plenty of blackcurrant, primary fruit. Nice concentration - great nose,,probably needs another year but it will be worth the wait.
